Web Brief Guide

Discovery, Design and Scoping

Process

After an initial meeting with the client, projects normally start with a Discovery, Design and Scoping process.

A written brief from the client is used as the basis for a meeting with all the project stakeholders in what we call a ‘discovery day’. Here all the stakeholders of the project are invited separately (or in a group) to have an input into the objectives of the project and describe what they see as their desired outcomes.
An output from these meetings is published which becomes the basis of the project initiation document (PID).

The deliverables of this process for a typical web design brief would be;

  • Project Initiation Document including project scope and functional specification, technical specifications, project plan and detailed budget estimates
  • Branded “Mood boards” depicting the visual mood of the web designs
  • Template designs which will deliver the information architecture
  • Site map and Wireframes for the project
  • Sample page layouts

Project management and delivery

Throughout the project, KMP's account and project managers will mange the project in the spirit of PRINCE 2 and communicate with you via our client extranet which uses Basecamp project management technology.
